Devotional – The Queen Life – Day 15

Friday March 19, 2021

That which cannot be expressed in words is deemed unspeakable. Can you remember a moment in your life when you were so overwhelmed by happiness that there were no words to express how you felt? The Bible speaks about “joy”; it is priceless gift that God promises to His children; it is a gift that keeps on giving. The definition of the word “joy” is: “a feeling of great pleasure and happiness”.

I believe that the past four days of devotionals have set a pace that has reached a climax; one from which we should never come down from. In knowing that every debt we will ever owe for sin is Paid in Full is a tremendous blessing. In Counting the Cost of our faith, and knowing that when we give ourselves fully to God we receive The Full Reward. Oh what a relief to be able to lay down all our anxieties, and fear and be able to enjoy a Glorious Reset as often as we need to as we forget the things that are behind, and press toward the higher calling in Christ Jesus. What a True Love we have from a KING Who is ever faithful.

Today, our Devotional explores the topic: Unspeakable Joy. I believe we are in for a great treat; I hope you agree with me. Come let us journey together.

As we read through Scripture, we can admit that there are some distinctive moments when some Bible Characters experienced a level of happiness, and pleasure that words just cannot express. There were even instances when two or more persons had the identical experience; yet, if we were to ask to each person how they felt, their utterances would be different. The experience of joy has that effect on the human heart.

Let us look at some of these joyous moments:

NOAH – Successfully hear God’s instruction to build an ark. He obeys and as Good said it would, the rains came; Noah and his family were saved. The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation. (Genesis 7:1)

ABRAHAM – Receives the promise of a son, and an everlasting covenant from God that he would be the Father of Many Nations. Abram fell facedown, and God said to him, “As for me, this is my covenant with you: You will be the father of many nations. found you righteous in this generation. (Genesis 17:3)

SARAH – After being barren for 90 years, she eventually conceives and gives birth to a son. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age, at the very time God had promised him. (Genesis 21:2)

MOSES – Called by God to lead Israel out of bondage; encounters the obstacle of the Red Sea. He exercises faith, stretches out his rod, and the water is parted. Israel crosses over on dry land. But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. (Exodus 14:16)

HANNAH– Desires to bear a child; is ridiculed and despised. She prays to God for a child; conceives and gives birth to a son: Samuel. O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. ( 1 Samuel 1:11)

DAVID – Faces an enemy much bigger and stronger than himself; depending on God’s wisdom and favour, he slays Goliath with a stone. So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone (1 Samuel 1:50)

These references are just in the Old Testament; we are by no means far into the unfolding story of God’s relationship with Israel. Yet, there already are so many instances of expressed joy. There is one undeniably consistent theme: the God of Israel is faithful in bestowing Unspeakable Joy on His children. How about you; did you give though to that moment in your life when you experienced joy that words could not describe; that unforgettable moment when there was no denying that the hand of God was extended towards you, and the True Love in His heart poured out on you?

As you walk the path of faith, and build your relationship with God, it is important that you keep your eyes open and firmly fixed on God so that you do not miss those special moments when your Heavenly Father directs His love squarely at you. It is in those times that you experience Unspeakable Joy. You are a Daughter of the King; His Special Treasure, and He has great plans for you. In pursuing the QUEEN LIFE, you want to be so attentive to your faith that You are Living on Schedule, making sure that Every Moment Matters so that the Untold Stories of your life are unfolding every day. At the end of it all, much like King David, you can proclaim thus:

You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures for ever more.”

Psalm 16:11

As we admire the many characters in the Bible whose faith and obedience to God resulted in experiences of Unspeakable Joy, as Daddy’s Little Girl , when we are deliberate about sharing an intimate and growing relationship with our King, Who is the Lover of Our Souls we too will create records of our own Unspeakable Joys . When the Untold Stories are eventually told, and the question is asked: Whose Faith Is It? The answer will be: it was all hers- she was careful to Define Her Faith, putting her total trust in God as the source of her joy, and she has all Her Faith Receipts too.

The promise of Joy was confirmed by our Lord, and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He proclaimed clearly that:

“These things I have spoken to you that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.”

St. John 15:10

Dearest Queen, there is an Undoubtable Guarantee that the blessing of Unspeakable Joy is yours for the taking. It may be that in the moments of intense pleasure and happiness, you may not be able to find words enough to express what you feel. CONSIDER

  • Am I open to experiencing the fullness of joy by dwelling in God’s presence?
  • Do I pay attention to how God is working in my life so I can experience Unspeakable Joy?

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:

Dear Heavenly Father,

In Your presence, there is fullness of joy; may my joy be such that words cannot express it. I desire to experience Your love in a way that records stories that will be told to generations to come. May my heart be steadfast always as I draw closer and closer to You daily; I know you desire intimacy with me, and I want to be near to You too. Yet at times I can be so distracted by all that is going on around me.

I always want to feel Your presence close to me, please help me to keep my eyes fixed on You so Your Word can be fulfilled, and I will be kept in perfect peace. I believe that my life will reflect Unspeakable Joy and I trust You more and more each day.

In Jesus’s Name I pray – Amen
