Sight is the function of the eyes, but vision is the function of the heart
Myles Monroe
Imagine for a moment that when God decided to create heaven and earth, He thought to Himself: “I may one day just make a home for Myself and My children; then He just continued to think about it, but did nothing. Thankfully this was not the case; instead, our Creator put His thoughts into action; He made a plan, and brought it to reality by His actions. He was enthused about His Big Idea, and allowed His passion to be the fuel for that burning flame of vision and purpose.
I’ve often imagined the excitement that God must have felt as idea after idea came to life; as one goal after the other was achieved. He went on to another and another with much enthusiasm. My husband shared the history of this powerful word: enthusiasm, and this is what I learned:
“The word “enthusiasm” comes from the Greek word “entheos” which means the God within. And the happiest, most interesting people are those who have found the secret of maintaining their enthusiasm, that God within”.

Our Devotional theme for the month of May is: Her Purpose, Her Passion. It is about a woman’s commitment to live with enthusiasm, vigor, fervor and passion. All these words are motivating; one can’t help but to spring into action when hearing them. This is the posture and attitude a Queen has knowing that she is born to fulfill a specific purpose. As women of faith, we are not naïve; we know all too well that it happens easily that we can live our entire lives and never discover the reason we are born. Hence, we strive to be focused and deliberate in our quest, so we pursue purpose with passion, so we can live meaningful lives.
In yesterday’s devotional, we explored: The Seed of Purpose as being the deposit that our Creator made within our hearts when we were conceived; we have proof that His actions are direct and deliberate; and we have received a mandate to live our lives with the same enthusiasm of our Creator. It is written:
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
The God-within ought to come forth; it is the passion of which we speak in today’s Devotion topic: The Seat of Passion. You can agree that for a thing to thrive there ought to be a suitable place to rest. Seeds need soil and water; what does our purpose need? The answer: it needs a heart in which to be seated, and nutrient, being passion. Simply, The Seat for Passion is your heart.
In conceiving the vision of yourself that God has placed within you as The Seed of Purpose ; you then are to establish within your heart, The Seat for Passion which will be the fuel that will set ablaze your ideas and cause you to live inspired and motivated to become the version of yourself that God has revealed. With the seed firmly planted, and passion ignited, you are destined for greatness. With great enthusiasm; that vigor that exists with your Creator, and is also in you, each day you will be committed to do what it will take to learn more, know more, and be more.
The Queen that you are understands that the success you will achieve will be as a result of the effort you make; the diligence to stay the course; not turning to the right, nor to the left, but keeping your eyes firmly fixed on the prize.
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
May you know with all your heart, that the God of heaven, Who is your King, is committed to your success. He has planted The Seed of Purpose within you, as you make your heart be The Seat for Passion, you will find that you will experience God’s love. Much like the Psalmist Asaph, you will say: ore; like s reference to what ought to happen to this seed:
Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:25-26
Your Creator being your “portion forever” is the guarantee that you cannot fail. In discovering the WHY of your existence and being enthused to manifest God’s version of you, your greatness is on the horizon. The world needs you and can’t wait for you to come forth and shine like a diamond.
Queen…you are encouraged to heed the Word of God…
Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46:10

YOUR HEART IS THE SEAT FOR PASSION TO BE CULTIVATED

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Dear Heavenly Father,
To know that within me is planted The Seed of Purpose; I can be confident that greatness lies on the horizon, so I will prepare my heart as The Seat for Passion. Much like my God, I know that I must be enthusiastic about life, and all that it holds for me. In causing the God-within to come forth, it will be fuel to keep the flame of my ideas burning bright.
Thank You, dear God for the precious gift of purpose, and vision. I can look forward to a great future because you have great plans for me (Jeremiah 29:11). I am confident that you are my portion forever so that my life is secure in Your hands.
I will always be Sitting Around so I can be inspired and encouraged to follow the dream in my heart that You have revealed Your gift to me. I am truly committed to Rising Up and becoming the version of myself that You have ordained. I can, and I will as I rely on Your strength.
In Jesus’s Name I pray – Amen
