Devotional – Life in the Palace

^{A Queen knows that time is of the essence; she lives wisely}

Life is for living; it is a gift from God, one that a Queen cherishes. Between the day of birth, and the day we depart the earth there are many opportunities for us to enjoy this beautiful gift. The Creator of the Universe has been kind to bless us with every good thing that we need to live, love and laugh. All the while, as we exist in the body, it is important that we know and are able to recognize the seasons of our lives. The wise King Solomon helps us to understand and appreciate a most profound truth; in his writings, he tells us:

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:  a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;  a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

Time is precious; the woman who embraces a life of faith knows that she is a Daughter of the King; she learns from reading the Word of God that she lives in a time sensitive environment. For this reason, she will ensure that she is very much aware, and in sync with how the prophesies stated in the Bible are unfolding. Living in Season is her life song, and she uses her time well so that all that she does, enables her to:

..laugh at the days to come.

Proverbs 31:25

Our Creator gives us seasons so we can enjoy what is, and prepare for what is to come. We cannot deny that this is the season to prepare for the return of our Soon Coming King – His name is Jesus. Over the past decade and a half, I have marveled at the many times when the Scriptures I read daily seem like up to the minute news. Oftentimes, within a day of two, what the Scripture spoke of actually manifests before my very eyes. I have learned that our King is careful to reveal His plans through the Bible. He does so, so that we are well aware of what is in His mind, and what He will do, and also so that we can prepare.

For all that we see happening around us, we can’t deny that the days draw nigh, and the coming of the Lord is near. About the specific time of Christ’s return, Scripture tells us that:

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only.

St. Matthew 24:36

A Queen knows that wisdom dictates that she never waits for the appointed time to do what needs to be done; instead she is always preparing to meet what is ahead, and she does well to do so. As the King of Kings days of return approaches; whether during the time she is alive, or after she departs this life, she would have done well to practice Living in Season so that her soul is ready to meet Him.

The Seasons of a Queen’s life involves:

1. Reading the Word of God to gain knowledge and understanding of God’s will and purpose
2. Offering sincere praise, thanksgiving and worship unto her God for His loving kindness and tender mercies
3. Making fervent and effectual prayers unto God, watching carefully for the appearing of the signs of the times
4. Ask, Seek and Knock so that she gains wisdom, discovers purpose and is rewarded with great opportunities to bring glory to her God and King.
5. By the revelation power of the Holy Spirit, knowing what to do, when to do, how to do what she needs.
6. Accepting the responsibility to be a good leader and is a guiding light to others who walk the path of faith

A Queen knows her True Worth, and is committed to Living in Truth; she listens When God Speaks, and by the leading of the Holy Spirit is always Moving in Power. In her everyday life she is a Model Woman to whom other women can look for guidance so that they too can walk in faith and obedience to God. Her respect and appreciation for God’s gift of seasons inspires her to be Living in Season, and both her and her King have Satisfied Spirits.

In this season of preparing to meet your Soon Coming King, there is no time for distractions and wasting time; instead a Queen is focused and manages her time well. May it be that you do well to put into practice habits that will ensure that in the unfolding of God’s plan, you will be Living in Season.
