WEEK 1: THE CASE FOR VIRTUE
Learning to Be Me
WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 03, 2021
“She does him good…She seeks wool, She is like the merchant ship…she rises, she considers, she dresses…she perceives…she puts her hand…she opens her hand…she is not afraid”. (Proverbs 31:12:21- Partial References)
Hola Daddy’s Little Girl!!!! How is it going? What are your thoughts about the case being made for Virtue? Today, we are in for a treat; we are putting the pieces together to justify the reason we are on this awesome journey with our God and King. He loves us so much and desires for us to be all who He created us to be. Oftentimes we do not quite understand how to discover the better version of ourselves, so we will take that journey together. It would be great if you shared some of the wisdom you have learned on your journey with God.
As we are reading about the woman in Proverbs 31 we are learning of all the wonderful things she does, and the great skills and talents she possess. Can you identify some of her character traits and abilities in yourself? I ‘m sure you can, that’s truly awesome!!! Let’s celebrate you for exuding the essence of God. What are some of the ways you learned to discover yourself? It would be great to hear.
I have learned that at whatever stage we are in our lives, there is so much more we can learn. After all, we are: Daddy’s Little Girls so we are always growing and changing and flourishing, so learning is an important part of our journey. Let’s explore today’s topic: Learning to Be Me. Let’s look at a most profound Scripture that sets the pace for what we will talk about today. Here it is:
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”.
Ephesians 2:10
What then does this Scripture mean? In expounding, it reveals that: we are all created by God, in His image for a specific purpose – to do good things: through our gifts and talents. And why? So we can make a positive contribution while we live on earth, and from the work of our hand earn income. Isn’t this an awesome truth to know that God designed us uniquely and will bless us in the work we do?
Honestly, I have had my struggles with identifying my own abilities, and I have also met other women who are very talented and do outstanding work, yet some of us are so timid about showcasing the talents we possess. This is not the way God meant for it to. If we respond to our talents with an attitude of shyness, then we become like the man in Scripture who buried his talent and when the master returned to assess how he used it he was displeased with Him.
I believe that the woman in Proverbs 31 helps us to be courageous; she lived with boldness as much as she had so many talents and abilities, she did it all, and still remained humble and faithful. As we continue to make The Case for Virtue , today we will focus on Proverbs 31:12-21: it is written:
“She does him good…She seeks wool, She is like the merchant ship…she rises up early, she considers a field, she dresses…she perceives…she puts her hand…she opens her hand…she is not afraid”.
Proverbs 31:12-21 – Partial References
The Virtuous Woman is reported to a good wife, mother, entrepreneur, employer and so much more. As women, we are very much aware of the hard work that goes into just one day- so much to do in the form of: housework, school work, tasks at work, then we have relationships to nurture and the list goes on. In doing it all, we want to do it well too, and more so without burn out. The truth is, who we truly are, what we were born to do, how we do it and where we do it is a mystery until it is discovered. How do you believe we can unearth this secret? Hmmm… the answer- by asking the Creator.
There are definitely times when we have an idea of who we are, and what we can do, but then there are usually some grey areas where we are unsure. This is where Learning to Be Me is important, and this is where our Daddy wants to assist us. So, through Scripture He teaches us:
- Surrender – …offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God–this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
- Seek – Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye. shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks, finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened. (St. Matthew 7:7)
- Reliance – Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- Believe in Jesus – Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them. (St. John 7:38)
In accepting The Greatest Gift of All Times, and using it as a compass, knowing that you are Daddy’s Little Girl in being uniquely designed, and destined for greatness, you will be inspired by Learning to Be Me. In building and maintaining an intimate relationship with our Daddy, and practically applying Biblical Principles we will find all the answers to the many questions we will have about Who we really are, and why we were born.
Life is a mystery, but it can be solved when we seek after the clues that our Daddy leaves us in The Greatest Gift of all Times. We will always find the answers, and receive direction that leads us to the paths of righteousness. This is the promise and the guarantee that God gives to those who love and honour Him. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her in the gates.
Proverbs 31:31
All these good works you will do, and receive due honour because Daddy’s Little Girls mastered the art of Learning to Be Me.
BE BLESSED
LET US PRAY
Dear Daddy,
I admit that sometimes I am confused about who I am and what I was born to do. I am encouraged to know that it’s normal for me not to know. You have created me and you have the blueprint for who I truly am.
Thank you for revealing to me the truth that when I surrender to You, seek You, rely on You, and believe in Your Son, Jesus then I will have clarity about all that puzzles me.
I ask You to guide and direct me as I Learn to Be Me so that I will know the way to discover, pursue and fulfill my purpose. May I always be eager to accept and read The Greatest Gift of All Times, the Bible, and keep in mind that I am Daddy’s Little Girl as I embark on this journey with You, and live by the standard of virtue in Learning to Be Me.
Thank You for hearing answering my prayer.
I pray in Jesus’s Name. Amen
