WEEK 1: THE CASE FOR VIRTUE

Daddy’s Little Girls

TUESDAY FEBRUARY 02, 2021

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies”. (Proverbs 31:10)

Sister girl!!! I have a message for you. Do you have a few minutes to listen? Your Daddy asked me to tell you that: “HE LOVES YOU LOADS”!!! What was that? If I know your Daddy? Of course I do, girl, we are sisters, we have the same Daddy!! What kind of question is that? So I told you what He said, you can ask Him yourself if you think I’m lying.

Well, you see, one day I heard that same message, and I did not believe it for a minute. For as much trouble as I gave my Daddy I couldn’t believe that any message He sent to me would include the word “love” in it. But sister child, this is how our Daddy is; His love is unconditional; there is nothing that we can do to change how He feels about us. Matter of fact, He says that we are: Daddy’s Little Girls“; isn’t that the best news you’ve heard all year?

So now that the message has been delivered, let us have the proof. The Word of God is true; it cannot lie: here is what it says:

“…nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

Romans 8:38

With this truth known and accepted; what then do we do? We let “Virtue Reign in our Lives. Remember now, according to the words written in The Greatest Gift of All Times, we were: “created in the image of God”. (Genesis 1:27). Hence, we are to reflect Who He is as hard as it is sometimes. I know, there are times when our best efforts fail, and we wonder: “can I do this”?

As we continue to make The Case for Virtue , today we will focus on Proverbs 31:10: it is written:

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies”.

Proverbs 31:10

If you were asked this question, what would your answer be? Would you raise your hand and begin to call out a list of women you know to fit the profile? Would you call your own name as one who can be deemed a “Virtuous Woman”? For me, the first time I read this Scripture I was amazed after reading the verses after the question; the description of this woman left me bewildered. The question I asked was: “Is this even possible in these times? I liked her, but she intimidated me; I desired to be like her, but I had no clue how I could.

By now, you already know what I did after this; yes you are right. I prayed. The answer to my prayer came through the reading of this Scripture:

For God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of His own eternity. The righteous, because they are made in the image of God, can rest in the full hope of eternal life”.

Song of Solomon 2:23

The Scripture sounded good, but then, I was confused all over again. My next question was: what did these words mean: “immortal”, “eternity”, “righteous”? What did my confusion lead me to do? Yep!!! to PRAY!!! What do you think happened then? I got another Scripture; this time it was:

Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven”.

St. Matthew 18:3

Wow!!! All this seemed to make sense after all, and this is how I now undersand it:

  1. Sin is a reality – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)
  2. The truth about our existence is – God created man to be immortal, and made him to be an image of his own eternity. (Song of Solomon 2:23)
  3. We have been forgiven of all sin – When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins (Colossians 2:13)
  4. We can be transformed – …be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2)
  5. When we are transformed (changed); we become humble- , …unless you change and become like little children (St. Matthew 18:3)
  6. We become Children of God – …He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will (Ephesians 1:5)
  7. As children of God we obey His laws and commands – Children obey your parents because this is right (Ephesians 6:1)

So, let’s add it all up; when we embrace and display practical attitudes and habits in obedience to Biblical Principles as we explored in the Greatest Gift of All Times, when the question is asked: “Who can find a virtuous woman? The answer will be I surely can find one. One important truth I have learned about this topic: it is this:

Being “Virtuous” is not about being perfect. It’s mainly about humbly accepting “virtue” as a standard to which we challenge ourselves to live by ,and rely on God’s love, grace and power to guide us in the way we are to go. By faith we trust that our Heavenly Father will lead us along the paths of righteousness for His Name sake, and we will dwell perpetually in His presence. This is ultimately a woman whose price is more precious than rubies.

So now, we can confidently walk around with our crowns on our heads because we are Daddy’s Little Girls who have The Greatest Gift of All Times as a compass. The Case for Virtue has again been made and won. So now, what remains for us to do is to stay close to our Role Model, the woman in Proverbs 31:10-31; and let her godliness inspire us to continue being Daddy’s Little Girls.

Be Blessed

LET US PRAY

Dear Daddy,

I was delighted to receive Your message. To hear that “You love me Loads”; it warmed my heart and gave me a fuzzy feeling that I really like. I love You too, and want to live in a way that reflects Your image.

I know now that I am Daddy’s Little Girl; I do not need to be perfect. Instead, I only need to rely on You for guidance and direction, because You promise to lead me in the path of righteousness for Your Name sake.

“Virtue” is the standard I will hold myself to; and I ask that You keep me in Your close embrace as I take this journey to be a noble woman whose price is far above rubies. I want you to say to me: Many women have done nobly, but you surpass them all”. (Proverbs 31:29).

I pray in Jesus’s Name. Amen
