A Queen response to fear is remembering to Whom she belongs
It is true that there is a great deal that threatens us everyday; when we feel afraid because of lurking danger, there is one truth that we must keep at the forefront of our minds; it is that any potential peril pales when compared to the power of God. As humans, our natural reaction when faced with a threat is to exhibit fear. When this kind of fear overtakes our hearts, it decreases our hope, and limits our victories; we must strive to Defeat Fear.
Fear in another sense is good, and this kind is not the reaction to a threat; it is the kind of fear that is good and healthy for us. About this kind of fear, this is what the Bible teaches:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Proverbs 9:10
The wise King Solomon understood clearly how to achieve victory and never be a victim of fear; the perfect way is to “fear God”. Does this mean that we are afraid of God? By no means; instead, it means that we revere (honour) Him, acknowledge His power and embrace His love. All these taken together is the prescription to Defeat Fear.
The fearless King David must have taught his son well; his courage to stand against Goliath must have stemmed from His “fear” of God that is good for us; and that same fear is able to defeat unhealthy fear. Undoubtedly, David knew his True Worth; he was in tune with his abilities and had no reservations about putting them on display.
And David said to Saul, Your servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. Your servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.
1 Samuel 17:34-36
It was David’s expressed fearlessness that led to him being crowned a King of Israel; he embraced the reason he was born and allowed God to lead him on the path of righteousness. It was King David’s fear of God that caused him to write the myriads of psalms that he penned in Celebrating Dependence on the God of his forefathers. In one of his Psalms, David revealed the secret to living without fear and walking in victory. He wrote:
Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.
Psalm 119:165
Honouring God, loving His laws, and embracing His love is the recipe to Defeat Fear; all these taken together constitutes having a Fear of God. In concluding, it is fear that defeats fear. Having a Fear of God leads us to live to please Him; it makes us Dare to Do Right and so are in right standing with our King. The Bible addresses this matter in this way:
When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Proverbs 16:17
An enemy is anything or anyone that stands against you; God’s promise is that He will shield you from your enemies’ plots and threats. This is the reason He encourages us in this way:
Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will gather you and your children from east and west.
Isaiah 43:5
God’s presence and power is with those who fear Him; fear has no choice but to be extinguished when God is present. We do well to place our focus on loving God with a pure heart, honouring Him with our deeds and words so we can witness the Defeat of Fear. Nothing will by any mean threaten you because the God of Heaven is always with you. Believe with all your heart that righteousness has great value; in being in right standing with God, you have the ability to Defeat Fear; God Himself will stand in your defense; it is the His promise to those who trust and obey Him.
Like our brother, King David, a Queen is fearless because in her commitment to live For The King’s Pleasure, she is always Celebrating Dependence on her God and knows her True Worth. Every step she takes, she is Moving in Power; when she Ask, Seek and Knock, her King is faithful to respond affirmatively to her requests because The Heart of The Matter is that a Queen Dare to Do Right. She is Sold Out to the King and His Kingdom, and she boasts a reverential fear of God; as such, she fearlessly Defeat Fear.
PROCLAIM YOUR TRUE WORTH…DARE TO DISCOVER WHO GOD SAYS YOU ARE

MY PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Dear Heavenly Father,
I am delighted to know that fear has no power over me because I fear You, and only You. Your love for me is greater than anything or anyone that will stand against me. I You are for me, then nothing else matters.
Thank You for the gift of Your word that teaches me that You did not give me a spirit of fear. Instead I have the spirit of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7) My True Worth is determined by You, and I believe who You say I am courageous, I am fearless, I am Your Daughter, I am a Queen, and a Queen Defeats Fear by fearing her King. Thank You for teaching me to Defeat Fear with Fear– Fear of You, My God and King. I honour You with my whole heart.
In Jesus’s Name I pray – Amen
